the figures is disputable….
I have addressed the problem more than once before. Yesterday a discussion in my blogg brought the importance of the following to my attention. Och över alltihopa lyser moder Sol, Norah4you 10 augusti 2010 (Swedish text) That one of the stations used by the so-called. researchers to ”estimate” the CO2 concentration is changing or not changing for our Earth is Mauna Loa, the world’s largest active volcano …
It does not seem to have entered in CO2-belivers nor into the so-called CO2 experts had that. A volcano leaks large amounts of carbon dioxide during its entire active period. One example:
”In one year Etna leaked more than 1 million tons of sulfur dioxide (which will corrode the reinforcement of the bridge to be built across the Strait of Messina) and more than 10 million tons of carbon dioxide, but when the volcano have been outbreaks tenfold quantities for the duration of the outbreak is ongoing. ” Volcanoes, Natural Hazards Group (Swedish text)
The source I am referring to gives private company information. But the figures they used come from official measurements. The effects of CO2 leaking out from vulcanos, active as well as long time ‘dead’ vulcanos, the so called Climate Threat ‘experts’ forgotten, or at least missed to take into reliable calculations. The important information in the Natural Hazards pages is that IT’S NOT POSSIBLE to calculate the total leaking from our Earth more than 1000 volcanoes. Nor is it possible to give a trend for one single active or non-active volcano’s changed figures over for example 50 years…..
Please note that the figures above also apply to the dead volcanoes. The reason is that the quantity of CO2 varies depending on the chemicals ‘composition’ in the ‘bedrock’ that rests on the different tectonic plates in addition to the vicinity of a tectonic flattening the upper layer down to mateln in which the tectonic plates float depends on the forces that influenced the the individual tectonic plate from the break with the others who once put together with over time. ”Saved” carbon dioxid (Swedish text), Norah4you April 18th 2010
Specifically, this means that even dormant and ‘dead’ volcanoes emit CO2. Unfortunately there is no long statistics to talk about how these emissions overlooks for example a 50-year period. One thing is clear: To use the measuring station (s) in the vicinity of a volcano, currently active or previously active, but to deploy a belt of at least 10 stations within a radius of 1-2 swedish mile (10-20 km) around the volcano, to see how the CO2 will vary, it is like apointing a fox to count the chickens. 99% of all CO2 emissions are natural and much of the leaking comes from active, inactive and dead volcanoes … ..
