is exhausting. Pushing a mountain of debts that needs to be financed here and now calls for bank note press to be working 8 to 5…. is that right? Sounds like tune singing in my ears singed without precision…
Postponing a budget decision two months to avoid the Financial cliff problematic today January 1, 2013. Doesn’t sound realistic. It doesn’t make sense. Is it possible to do so according to the United States Constitution. Not that I am aware of.
Is it possible that US politians are as bad understanding the Laws they once voted on as the Swedish are? Can that be true?
If not A then B in every book of Logic means that it’s either A or B. Thus if B is old laws that for a period in time ending 00.00 the night between 2012 and 2013, and no decisions to extend the time for B is voted for nor A is voted for, in my book of logic that means that B is in place. Has any reports been made that an extension been two months has been up for voting? Not as far as I been reading. Thus the only conclusion I can arrive to is that what might have been correct according to Swedish Constitution (Sveriges Grundlagar) is a bit strange to be legal by the U.S. Constitution. Is that correct?
Very strange….. Debt ceiling reached or not…..
”I can confirm we will reach the statutory debt limit today, Dec. 31,” a Treasury Department official said.
As expected, Treasury Secretary Tim Geithner submitted a letter to Congress on Monday saying he had begun a ”debt issuance suspension period” that would last through Feb. 28. That means Treasury will employ a series of ”extraordinary measures” so it does not exceed the debt limit, currently set at $16.394 trillion.
Such measures include suspending the reinvestment of federal workers’ retirement account contributions in short-term government bonds.
By taking those steps, Treasury can buy about $200 billion of headroom. That normally can cover about two months’ worth of borrowing, although continuing uncertainty about tax rates and spending make it hard to determine precisely how long the extraordinary measures will last. But be realistic. A respit in time regarding debt limits, is not the same as postponing a decided limit date in laws regarding taxes. It’s not the same as voting. A decision without voting, can that really be legally correct according to U.S. Constitution? Here and now they have almost one hour and 30 minuits to vote for an extended limit. Will they?
Wall Street Journal tells that U.S. Budget Compromise Deal Reached, wsj.com The article is 20 minuits old that means a bit more than an hour to go….
But in same paper: Deal Leaves Lawmakers With Plenty More to Do, wsj.com December 31, 2012, 10.26 p.m.ET
Does that mean that lawmakers will have to work until the end of the year 2012 Western Time and that the new laws needs to be voted for before than? Or what?
