Misconduct has led to delays and 1 retraction in environmental quality measurements reports

By Jessica Morrison (E&CN)

Alleged misconduct and data manipulation at a U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) laboratory may have affected thousands of environmental quality measurements processed between 2008 and 2014, according to the Interior Department’s Office of Inspector General (OIG).

As many as 24 research projects, representing some $108 million in funding for the laboratory, may have been impacted, OIG said earlier this month. “At least seven reports have been delayed, and to date, one report has been retracted.”

The misconduct, which was discovered by USGS management in 2014, involves analyses performed using inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry by the Inorganic Section of the USGS Energy Geochemistry Laboratory in Lakewood, Colo.

“Some data were manipulated both to correct for calibration failures and to improve results of standard reference materials and unknowns” and raw data were not retained, USGS…

From The Washington Times and the “your friendly local California thought police” comes this travesty.

first-amendment

A landmark California bill gaining steam would make it illegal to engage in climate-change dissent, clearing the way for lawsuits against fossil-fuel companies, think-tanks and others that have “deceived or misled the public on the risks of climate change.”

The first-of-its-kind legislation — Senate Bill 1161, or the California Climate Science Truth and Accountability Act of 2016 — is scheduled for floor action Thursday after clearing Senate committees in April and May.

The measure would allow state and local prosecutors to pursue claims against climate-change skepticism as a violation of the state’s Unfair Competition Law [UCL], as well as extend the four-year statute of limitations for such claims retroactively to Jan. 1, 2021.

“This bill explicitly authorizes district attorneys and the Attorney General to pursue UCL claims alleging that a business or organization has directly…

Repetera:
* Centrifugalkraft För att förstå varför Centrifugalkraft inte är en reell naturkraft krävs att du repeterar vad Acceleration är.

* Gravitation även kallad Tyngdkraft
* Rotation

Jordens diameter
Jordens diameter är 12 756 km vid ekvatorn. (Jordens radie är då hälften)
Jorden

Högsta höjd och största djup
Jordens högsta berg, Mount Everest är ;8 848 meter högt.(Med andra ord 8 km 848 meter)
Jordens största djup Challangerdjupet i Marinergraven, Stilla Havet, 11 034 meter djup.

Where have all the Money gone?
It’s more and more alike with the situation back in 70’th here in Gothenburg when we ordinary people couldn’t help wondering why they dug and filled in same streets over and over again until someone said: The workers have to have something to do in order to get their sallary. Thus they can’t coordinate electricity, plumming and other works in the street. How could they – they wouldn’t have work enough to be payed for…..

Washington Times columnist Richard Rahn has noticed his name has been included in DeSmogBlog’s Global Warming ”Disinformation Database” – and he’s not happy about it.

The return of pseudo-science

The global warming industry lashes out in defense of its funding.

This past month, I received an email from a European friend (who has a doctorate in chemistry) saying: “Dear Richard: Now you are a member of this illustrious club! I am beginning to be afraid! What is going on?” It seems my name had been put on a “Global Warming Disinformation Database.” This past Saturday, The Wall Street Journal in its lead editorial on the “climate police” noted that the attorney general of the U.S. Virgin Islands has demanded that the Competitive Enterprise Institute (CEI) “cough up a decade of emails and policy work, as well as a list of private donors” (as if the…

l think the key difference between the ice age and the current warm period is the degree of variation in the weather. During the warm period there is such a high degree of variation in the weather that it spreads the heat around the globe. So giving most of the globe at least some warmth. But as we enter a ice age this variation begins to shut down and so leading to more static weather patterns. When the patterns become more static then the weather becomes block. So the same type of weather is turning up more often. This is what put North America and northern europe into the ice house during the ice age.

And btw – Where have all the money gone? Still no answers from the CO2-believers….

By Paul Dorian, Vencore Weather

Overview
El Nino strengthened significantly during 2015 and peaked in December as one of the strongest such episodes in the past fifty years.  Even though El Nino is a phenomenon characterized by unusually warm water in the equatorial Pacific Ocean, it can have ramifications around the world.  In fact, global temperatures spiked during the last half of 2015 as a result of the strong El Nino and were still at very high levels relative-to-normal as recently as last month.  In addition, global sea ice appeared to be impacted by El Nino as it took a steep dive during much of 2015 and remained at well below-normal levels going into this year.  In the past couple of months, however, El Nino has begun to collapse and will likely flip to a moderate or strong La Nina (colder-than-normal water) by later this year.  In rather quick fashion…

The question is one of the easier to answer: Use mathematical analysis such as calculus of variation and process of variation same way you would if you try to solve Xenon’s paradoxs Then you use Tjebychev’s thesis. In other word if you have math in you, you wouldn’t need a calculator what so ever – it’s easy to calculate in your head.

From NSIDC:

Antarctic sea ice: an update

Antarctic sea ice extent continues to make headlines because it has grown even as much of the globe, and Antarctica itself, is warming. Arctic sea ice, in contrast, is showing a marked decline. Warmer air and ocean waters are bathing both poles, so why does the Antarctic sea ice trend resist decline?

Data image showing Antarctic sea ice maximum extent for 2014

On September 19, 2014, the five-day average of Antarctic sea ice extent reached a maximum record, exceeding 20 million square kilometers for the first time since 1979. The red line shows the average maximum extent from 1979-2014. Credit: NASA’s Scientific Visualization Studio/Cindy Starr

Despite what some might think, high ice extent in Antarctica does not balance out low ice extent in the Arctic. Antarctica is showing strong warming in other areas, and is experiencing the consequences of this warming, such as the dramatic breakups of ice shelves on the Antarctic…

Had to check my calender. No it’s not April 1st when people tend to joke around. Yale University WILL Close Climate Change Institute…..

After a University decision to cut all its funding, Yale’s Climate & Energy Institute will close by the end of June.

The loss of the institute, which for the last eight years has conducted research related to issues of climate change, leaves a hole in climate and energy studies at Yale. Although the Energy Studies academic program will continue within Yale College, students in the YCEI said they were outraged by the budget cuts and subsequent closure of an institute that is one of the only research-focused climate change programs for undergraduates on campus. The announcement came in a Monday afternoon email to the YCEI community from institute co-directors and geology and geophysics professors David Bercovici and Jay Ague, and follows years of cuts to the institute’s funding, according to students involved in the organization.

“While not all good things have to come to an end, sometimes they just do,” Bercovici and Ague wrote. “The YCEI will stop activities and close up shop as of June 30, 2016.” Read more at: Yale University Closes Climate Change Institure, Guest essay by Eric Worrall on wattsup 2016/03/03

Somewhere over the rainbow I do hope that the religious CO2-believers understand that reality beats fiction,
and while it’s allowed for any human to be stupid,
it’s never good to prove it him-/herself…

Where have all the money gone collected by true CO2-threat believers? Has anyone seen an estimated total cost for the believers’ so called experts ”studie”
and
above all have anyone of the belivers understood that this winter the Antarctic is even worse than when the belivers ship had to be resqued from the frozen ice of Antarctic?

Guess at least some of you are aware of a potential true scientists been frozen in with an ice-breaking ship travelling to a true (hopefully) scientstation i Antarctic with supplies and exchanging scholars…..

Funny thing is that in the video that goes with the article, they try to prove that this isn’t the ordinary situation i Antarctic….. but we who have access to what happened in the past, we know that facts beaten the believers more than once before…..

Anyhow here is the article in The Sydney Morning Herald:
<em<Australian icebreaker the Aurora Australis has run aground at Mawson Station in Antarctica.

The ship broke from its moorings just after 3pm on Wednesday during a heavy blizzard with 67 expeditioners on board, the Australian Department of Environment confirmed.

Does anyone remember:
”Rescue situation in Antarctic remains unchanged,” the Australian Maritime Safety Authority (AMSA) said in an update on Wednesday. ”Helicopter unable to fly in current weather conditions. Raining in area & winds 20-30 knots.”

Australian authorities, who are coordinating the rescue, plan to use the helicopter on board the Chinese-flagged icebreaker Xue Long to bring 52 passengers off the boat, leaving behind its 22 crew members.

They would then be taken by barge from the Xue Long to the Aurora Australis.

AMSA said the latest information was that the Chinese vessel was ”moving and manoeuvring slowly around the ice”, allaying fears that the Xue Long had itself become trapped.

”The Rescue Coordination Centre has no information indicating they are stuck in the ice at this time,” spokeswoman Lisa Martin said.

Passengers on the stranded ship had been following in the footsteps of Australian Sir Douglas Mawson and his 1911-1914 expedition and they greeted the New Year with cheer, singing an anthem they wrote to ring in 2014.Winds, rain put Antarctic ship rescue on hold, Bangkokpost 1 Jan 2014 08.49 local time Bangkok GMT 01.49 wrote about it in:

From the department of wasted grant money and YALE SCHOOL OF FORESTRY & ENVIRONMENTAL STUDIES, comes this models gone wild fish story moment, bold mine:

Global warming will drive vast, unpredictable shift in natural wealth

Examination of shifting fish stocks illustrates potential net loss in global wealth

Many studies have shown that critical natural resources, including fish stocks, are moving poleward as the planet warms. A new Yale-led study suggests that these biophysical changes are also reallocating global wealth in unpredictable, and potentially destabilizing, ways.

On its surface, these biophysical movements will shift resources from communities and nations closer to the equator into places closer to the poles. In many cases this would seem to exacerbate inequalities between richer and poorer communities.

But writing in the journal Nature Climate Change, the researchers suggest that the impacts on net global wealth may not be that straightforward. In fact, they make the…
