Misconduct has led to delays and 1 retraction in environmental quality measurements reports

Alleged misconduct and data manipulation at a U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) laboratory may have affected thousands of environmental quality measurements processed between 2008 and 2014, according to the Interior Department’s Office of Inspector General (OIG).

As many as 24 research projects, representing some $108 million in funding for the laboratory, may have been impacted, OIG said earlier this month. “At least seven reports have been delayed, and to date, one report has been retracted.”

The misconduct, which was discovered by USGS management in 2014, involves analyses performed using inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry by the Inorganic Section of the USGS Energy Geochemistry Laboratory in Lakewood, Colo.

“Some data were manipulated both to correct for calibration failures and to improve results of standard reference materials and unknowns” and raw data were not retained, USGS…

A landmark California bill gaining steam would make it illegal to engage in climate-change dissent, clearing the way for lawsuits against fossil-fuel companies, think-tanks and others that have “deceived or misled the public on the risks of climate change.”

The first-of-its-kind legislation — Senate Bill 1161, or the California Climate Science Truth and Accountability Act of 2016 — is scheduled for floor action Thursday after clearing Senate committees in April and May.

The measure would allow state and local prosecutors to pursue claims against climate-change skepticism as a violation of the state’s Unfair Competition Law [UCL], as well as extend the four-year statute of limitations for such claims retroactively to Jan. 1, 2021.

Densitet är en fysikalisk storhet som talar om en massa/ett ämnes/ett objekts täthet. När det gäller vatten så är det inte vid 0 grader C utan vid +4 C som vattnet har sin största vikt. Densiteten för vatten varierar för vattnets olika former och samma massa väger olika som flytande vatten, som is och som ånga. Vid +4 °C har vatten densiteten 1,000 g cm^-3. Densiteten för is är i runda tal 0,917 g cm^-3. Vilket betyder att volymen för en ismassa är större än samma volym är när vattnet smält.....Archimedes princip

Enkelt uttryckt är det så att den syre vi andas till stor del kommer från jordens lungor de gröna växterna. Många tycks ha glömt att det är större problem att bygga på platser där träd ha stått eller hugga ner träd och växtlighet, oavsett om detta är i urskog, norra halvklotets barr- och lövskogar eller mindre träd och buskar i tätorternas alltmer glesnande parkar som äts upp av bostads och industribyggnader, för det är Fotosyntesen som ger oss människor det syre vi behöver. l think the key difference between the ice age and the current warm period is the degree of variation in the weather. During the warm period there is such a high degree of variation in the weather that it spreads the heat around the globe. So giving most of the globe at least some warmth. But as we enter a ice age this variation begins to shut down and so leading to more static weather patterns.When the patterns become more static then the weather becomes block. So the same type of weather is turning up more often. This is what put North America and northern europe into the ice house during the ice age.

And btw – Where have all the money gone? Still no answers from the CO2-believers….

Overview
El Nino strengthened significantly during 2015 and peaked in December as one of the strongest such episodes in the past fifty years.  Even though El Nino is a phenomenon characterized by unusually warm water in the equatorial Pacific Ocean, it can have ramifications around the world.  In fact, global temperatures spiked during the last half of 2015 as a result of the strong El Nino and were still at very high levels relative-to-normal as recently as last month.  In addition, global sea ice appeared to be impacted by El Nino as it took a steep dive during much of 2015 and remained at well below-normal levels going into this year.  In the past couple of months, however, El Nino has begun to collapse and will likely flip to a moderate or strong La Nina (colder-than-normal water) by later this year.  In rather quick fashion…

Antarctic sea ice extent continues to make headlines because it has grown even as much of the globe, and Antarctica itself, is warming. Arctic sea ice, in contrast, is showing a marked decline. Warmer air and ocean waters are bathing both poles, so why does the Antarctic sea ice trend resist decline?

Had to check my calender. No it’s not April 1st when people tend to joke around. Yale University WILL Close Climate Change Institute…..

After a University decision to cut all its funding, Yale’s Climate & Energy Institute will close by the end of June.

The loss of the institute, which for the last eight years has conducted research related to issues of climate change, leaves a hole in climate and energy studies at Yale. Although the Energy Studies academic program will continue within Yale College, students in the YCEI said they were outraged by the budget cuts and subsequent closure of an institute that is one of the only research-focused climate change programs for undergraduates on campus. The announcement came in a Monday afternoon email to the YCEI community from institute co-directors and geology and geophysics professors David Bercovici and Jay Ague, and follows years of cuts to the institute’s funding, according to students involved in the organization.

Where have all the money gone collected by true CO2-threat believers? Has anyone seen an estimated total cost for the believers’ so called experts ”studie”
and
above all have anyone of the belivers understood that this winter the Antarctic is even worse than when the belivers ship had to be resqued from the frozen ice of Antarctic?

Guess at least some of you are aware of a potential true scientists been frozen in with an ice-breaking ship travelling to a true (hopefully) scientstation i Antarctic with supplies and exchanging scholars…..

Funny thing is that in the video that goes with the article, they try to prove that this isn’t the ordinary situation i Antarctic….. but we who have access to what happened in the past, we know that facts beaten the believers more than once before…..

”Rescue situation in Antarctic remains unchanged,” the Australian Maritime Safety Authority (AMSA) said in an update on Wednesday. ”Helicopter unable to fly in current weather conditions. Raining in area & winds 20-30 knots.”

Australian authorities, who are coordinating the rescue, plan to use the helicopter on board the Chinese-flagged icebreaker Xue Long to bring 52 passengers off the boat, leaving behind its 22 crew members.

They would then be taken by barge from the Xue Long to the Aurora Australis.

AMSA said the latest information was that the Chinese vessel was ”moving and manoeuvring slowly around the ice”, allaying fears that the Xue Long had itself become trapped.

”The Rescue Coordination Centre has no information indicating they are stuck in the ice at this time,” spokeswoman Lisa Martin said.
